4/2/25: Meditative Sumi-e Ink Painting
March 5th from 6-8pm at Hotel Kansas City in the iconic 3rd floor President's Ballroom
I can't wait for this class, because my parents celebrated their wedding reception in this room over 40 years ago! Learn the art of connecting with brush and ink. I'll be teaching the same practice that I used to make my most popular original piece "The Bat" from my new collection Flying in the Dark (on exhibit in the hotel the month of February.)
ABOUT THIS CLASS
- Hayley will teach the art of connecting with the brush and the ink through meditative Sumi-e Ink Painting (using Hand Ground Japanese Sumi Ink.) The actual grinding down of the ink stick on an ink stone is a meditative practice in itself.
- Each attendee will take home their ink stone and ink stick to use again later and a finished ink painting piece that they make.
5/7/25: Sunset Watercoloring Workshop
May 7th from 6-8pm (sunset) on the Starlight Rooftop of Hotel Kansas City. This is an outdoor class! Ahh, spring has arrived!
